Six of Wands

The Six of Wands Quote

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.
~Denis Watley

Meaning upright

And the winner is?, recognition, developing self-confidence, positive self-image, applause, recommendation to proceed, embarking on your journey, the wind in the back, highlight, dynamic, attention, thoughtless act, selfishness, scoop, leadership, stubbornness.

Meaning reversed

With the tail between your legs, lack of motivation, not get the recognition you deserve, letting your head hang, at the wrong time, give up, lack of action when it should have been full of it, low self-esteem, shy, afraid to shine and accepting congratulations, not stand for your performance.

Gilded Tarot - Six of Wands

The Six of Wands in your reading

And the winner is ...! You hear your name through the speakers and you know immediately that you will have to receive your prize in a few minutes. Your heart jumps up and around you people begin to applaud. You've won the first prize.

But for winning the first prize a match is not required. Winner Mentality is inside or not. A real winner does not need a match need to know that he is good. It has much more to do with how you look at your self and how you value yourself than receiving external recognition that confirms that what you are doing is good enough.

If you are able to call yourself a winner then you will find that you will go with the flow. it open doors that remain closed to others just because you come across as a winner. People feel comfortable around the energy of a winner. They just like it better than a loser energy. So call yourself a winner even before you've won anything.

Of course you have to work hard to achieve your goals when you pull the Six of Wands, but there is nothing wrong with that. As long as you enjoy your work you will achieve more. But after that first prize you will win another one, and so on. Do not depend on those prices to appreciate what you do. Even someone who comes in last can be a winner. The point is whether you have given everything towards your goal. If the latter is the case then you are a winner. If you can give more than you know that you're not quite there yet. Do not let that discourage you, but continue. Step by step, training by training. Defeat your ego.

The six wands represent a positive self image. If you can feel good about what you do then that will contribute to the performance. If you are struggling with your motivation then look at how your fellows are working on it. Do you see them all as better, faster or stronger? Change the way you think and ride the white horse of the winner. Positive thoughts will eventually carry the champion title.
