Meaning upright

Unique personality, sneaking away, a unique way of thinking, acting, a clear personal goal, knowing why you do something, choose the difficult route, emotions that influence your actions, impulsive action, unable to handle the situation, not enough abilities for your job, trivialize, underestimate, organizing your job poorly, creating problems, lack of knowledge of a particular subject, double agenda, collaborate with someone you should keep an eye on, assign yourself more … (fill in the blanks), to steal someone else’s idea or property,  manipulation, pretending you’re not guilty, sneaky behaviour, not able to maintain yourself in a group, you feel inhibited, false conclusions, destructive behaviour, sabotage.

Meaning reversed

To change your behaviour in a positive way, sharing equally, taking action to improve the situation, not longer ruled by your emotions, end to confusion, feeling free to express your opinion, overcoming fear, having an independent position, personal power, opening to others, not being yourself, discretion, caution, follow your own path.

The Seven of Swords in your reading

Often this card is interpreted in a negative way because you could say that this figure is sneaking out (or in) with five of seven swords. But you can also look at the card in another way. Could it be that he’s finally choosing his own direction and choosing for himself? He’s taking what is his and leaves. Not everybody will like that and sometimes people choose to do it in the dark of night without informing others. In my opinion it is good that he chooses for himself because when you keep going under the influence of rules and expectations of others you won’t become a happier person.

To do so you have to know who you are and what you stand for. What do you think is okay and what not? Which direction is good for you? Don’t let others influence any longer but stand for who you are and follow your own values. Sometimes you will have to go the difficult route but that’s a choice you have to make. It isn’t easy but it will bring you the best results in the end (if you are willing to work and wait for it).

Don’t underestestimate the task that’s there for you. The Seven of Swords shows you that it is a difficult road, but once you’re on the road you will feel how it feels. Decide on how much information you want to give to others about what your path is. If you think it is wasted energy because they won’t understand you anyway then please keep connected to yourself. This is something you HAVE to do.

It can also be that someone close around you is planning on something that might have less positive results for you. Don’t be too gullible but defend your rights. You are not a will-less victim of the situation. You can take it in your hand if you want to. You are also a unique person who can choose for your path.
